These terms apply to anyone submitting a business listing to, or otherwise using, the Fylde Coast Business Directory (“the site”). By submitting a listing, or by browsing the site, you agree to these terms. Where these terms refer to “we”, “us”, or “the site operator”, they mean the person or organisation running this website. Where they refer to “you”, in the context of a submission, they mean the business or individual submitting a listing.

What this site is

The Fylde Coast Business Directory is a free, independently-run directory of local businesses across Blackpool, Lytham, and St Annes. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any of the businesses listed on it. We simply publish information that businesses submit about themselves, for the benefit of people looking for local businesses and services.

Listing your business — it’s free, for now

There is currently no charge to submit or maintain a basic business listing. We intend to keep a free listing tier available, but we reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future (for example, a featured or upgraded listing) alongside the free tier. Any such change would apply to new paid features only — we would not start charging for a listing that is already live for free without giving reasonable notice first.

Submitting a listing

When you submit a business listing (or an update, event, offer, or news item for an existing listing), you confirm that:

• you are the owner of the business, or you are authorised by the business to submit and manage its listing;
• the information you provide is accurate and relates to a genuine, currently-operating business or service on the Fylde Coast; and
• you have the right to share any content you submit (text, descriptions, or details about events and offers) and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

By submitting content, you give us permission to publish, display, and reasonably edit that content (for example, for formatting, length, or clarity) on the site and in connection with promoting the site. You remain responsible for keeping your listing information accurate — if your details change (address, phone number, opening status), it is your responsibility to submit an update.

Moderation and our discretion

Every submission is reviewed by us before it goes live — nothing is published automatically. We may decline to publish, may edit for clarity or formatting, or may remove any listing or submitted content at any time and without notice, including (but not limited to) where we reasonably believe a submission is inaccurate, spam, a duplicate, abusive, unlawful, or not a genuine Fylde Coast business. We are under no obligation to publish any submission, and publishing a listing is not a guarantee that it will remain published indefinitely.

No guarantee of results

We do not guarantee any particular level of visibility, ranking, position on the site, or volume of views, enquiries, or business as a result of being listed. Listings are generally ordered alphabetically or by other non-commercial criteria unless a paid featured placement is explicitly agreed.

Advertising and affiliate links

This site is supported by advertising (including Google AdSense) and may contain affiliate links in guides and articles (for example, links to hotel or activity booking sites), from which we may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking through — at no extra cost to you. Adverts and affiliate content may appear alongside or near business listings. Their presence does not imply any endorsement, partnership, or relationship between us and the advertiser or affiliate merchant, nor between us and any business listed on the site.

No endorsement, no liability for listed businesses

We publish information submitted to us; we do not independently verify the quality, safety, legality, or trading status of any listed business, and listing on this site is not an endorsement or recommendation. Any dealings you have with a business found through this site — bookings, purchases, services, or otherwise — are solely between you and that business. We are not responsible or liable for the conduct, products, services, pricing, or accuracy of information provided by any listed business.

Third-party sites

The site may link to third-party websites (business websites, affiliate merchants, social media). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites, and linking to them does not imply endorsement. You visit them at your own risk and should check their own terms and privacy policies.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, reliance on any listing or content published on it, or your dealings with any business found through it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited (for example, liability for fraud).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example as the site’s features change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when that happens. Continuing to use the site or maintain a listing after an update means you accept the revised terms.

This site and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
